Nutritional Updates from ECCO 2021
The 16th Congress of the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation was held virtually on July 2-3 and July 8-10, 2021. Below find a list of some of the nutritional highlights from the meeting.

- Dr. Neeraj Narula presents High ultra processed food consumption is associated with the development of IBD, results from the prospective urban rural epidemiology (PURE) study.
- Dr. Arie Levine presents the CRAFT UC Trial - A novel trial of a UC diet +/- FMT in UC patients failing medical therapy. Diet alone achieves higher clinical remission and mucosal healing than FMT +/- diet.
- Dr. Benedicte Pigneur presents data from the CD HOPE study of cyclic EEN to maintain long-term remission.
- Use of EEN vs Corticosteroids for induction of remission evaluated for 1-2 year outcomes
- Patients would benefit from greater access to dietitians with IBD expertise:
- P575 Nutrition and Inflammatory Bowel Disease – a nationwide survey of patients, gastroenterologists and dietitians
- P601 Are Inflammatory Bowel Disease patients' expectations met by dietetic services?
- Lifestyle intervention improves fatigue and quality of life
